My name is Bin Xie (谢斌). I am an Assistant Professor of Economics in the Institute for Economic and Social Research (IESR) at Jinan University, Guangzhou since September, 2017. I am affiliated with the IZA - Institute of Labor Economics as a Research Associate.
My research primarily focuses on the following topics:
1. The social and economic activities of overseas Chinese and the impacts of the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882
2. The labor market impacts of US immigration policies
3. The consequences of mass movements in the early communist China
4. The impact of educational policies on intergenerational social mobility
